Gone are the nights of dinner by candlelight, ambiance and romance... Well, actually these days I'd take a dinner out without whining, crying or melt downs!
When the desire to eat out hits you and you wonder, what restaurant(s) are family friendly, here is a short list of a few places I have found in the Chicago area.

Flat Top Grill (city & suburban locations): Kids 5 & under eat FREE. Several locations throughout the city
Go Roma (downtown and suburban locations):
Kids eat FREE on Sundays.
California Pizza Kitchen (city & suburban locations): This restaurant, at least the Lincoln Park location really caters to children and families. The staff are friendly and nice and when they see a brocade of highchairs, strollers and tiny feet, they don't look horrified! Great kids meals and 99cent sundae that is yummy!
